Every once in a while, a project comes along that breaks the mold and gets people talking. Recently in Whistlebend, we built a fence that’s already starting to turn heads.
The client wanted the warmth of a brown wood fence, but instead of traditional wood panelling, she asked for something different—2" x 4" galvanized wire mesh framed in 2x4 wood. The result? A clean, modern design that still feels rustic and grounded in its surroundings.
The wood frames were stained a rich brown to give that natural, classic look, while the open wire sections add lightness, visibility, and a unique architectural style you don’t see often around Whitehorse. It’s the kind of fence that defines a property without closing it in—perfect for the Whistlebend neighborhood.
This was a fun custom build
for us, and it’s exciting to see neighbors and passersby noticing the fresh take on a classic idea. Sometimes the best projects come from stepping outside the box—and this one is a great example of how simple materials can create something truly distinctive.
If you’re thinking about a fence in Whitehorse that stands out while still blending into the landscape, this style is a fantastic option.
